Birdie Story - Zephaniah 3:17
"...He will joy over thee with SINGING."
"Chirp...chirp, chirp ------- Chirp....chirp, chirp" sings the little songbird high up in
the tree. I hear his beautiful song as I pass by his spot several times as I
take my morning walk.
I've been sneezing since I woke up... In fact, my nose has felt as if it
would "fall off" for months! So with itching, burning eyes and nose dripping
a "mile a minute", I cry out to God for whole house air conditioning so that the pollen
won't come through the open windows at night. Never have I had such a difficult spring! The pollen count must be
really high!
"Chirp...chirp, chirp" sings the birdie again and again,
but I cannot see him. "Where are you, pretty bird? Where are you? I search the
branches, but you are nowhere to be found. You must be a tiny thing, hiding
among those pretty, green leaves because I cannot see you anywhere", I
think.
"Chirp...chirp, chirp!" I hear him again, and I think of
the new body I shall have someday, a body that is no longer allergic! What a
glorious thing it will be to enjoy God's beautiful world without feeling ill!
:)
"Chirp...chirp, chirp!" He keeps singing.....And God
speaks, "I am like the little bird. My word, my "song", goes out to you each
day, and there are special promises just for you. You hear and
know that I am real even though you cannot see me. You hear my word, and
it comforts and encourages your heart. It makes you "sing" and often cry for
joy. I am like the little songbird, and I AM
SINGING A LOVELY SONG OVER YOUR
LIFE!"
